Rohde & Schwarz has added R&S ZNB26 and R&S ZNB43 to its R&S ZNB vector network analyzer family. The new model addresses applications in the mmWave range such as 5G at FR2 frequencies and applications in aerospace and defence in the Ka-band. The ZNB26 variant is capable of analysing upto 26.5GHz whereas the ZNB43 extends the upper frequency of the midrange VNA family to 43.5 GHz.
According to the company, the product offers features such as ease of operation and a measurement performance which combines outstanding speed and dynamic range with temperature stability, it is a leading instrument in the midrange class. The R&S ZNB43 is available in two connector types measuring 2.4 mm or 2.92 mm and comes in 2 port or 4 port models. The instrument also offers a frequency range of 100KHz to 43.5 GHz. The model has a second internal source and offers an extended power range, it is suitable for the characterization of passive devices such as filters, couplers, and switches.
The device can also be used for the measurement of active devices such as mixers and amplifiers when the instrument is equipped with a second internal source. Higher frequencies, faster clock rates, and more precise specifications all demand more accurate device characterization. The R&S ZNB families also work with many industries leading software tools that are capable of de-embedding line with IEEE 370, which now comes as fully integrated options. Furthermore, the R&S ZNB also allows users to keep track of measurement uncertainty in real-time, with integrated software options thus making the tool more suitable for applications requiring high precision. Furthermore, the R&S ZNB models also feature inline calibration units which remain connected to the device under test throughout the test period, thus, simplifying the process of calibration of the instrument.
