Mercury System’s RH5210 multi-output power module serves as a SWaP-optimized drop-in power supply for the Xilinx XQRKU060 rad-tolerant FPGA. The RH5210 replaces 11 discrete power supplies and inductors with a die-based solution that is just 51×63-mm. This results in up to a 50% space savings for many radiation-sensitive applications, ranging from satellites and launch vehicles to remote robotic devices and mission-critical computing systems.
Operating from a single 5-V supply, the RH5210 packs eight switching regulators and three low-dropout regulators, all of which are rad-tolerant. Supplies are externally adjustable. The device supports supply sequencing and meets the output noise and output accuracy requirements of the Xilinx XQRKU060 FPGA. It also provides one unregulated output for FET gate control.
The RH5210 off-the-shelf power supply is the first in a series of radiation-tolerant multi-output power supplies designed for commercial and space applications. It enables advanced edge-processing applications, accelerating the ability to bring AI processing directly to orbit in support of earth imaging, sensor fusion, and hypersonic missile threat mitigation.
